Foxes: singular vs. plural

[edit]

I have changed all occurrences of the possessive Foxes' to Foxes's. Yes, I realize that's a mouthful. However, according to Wikipedia's Manual of Style, the possessive form of all singular nouns—no matter what letter they end with—should be given an apostrophe-s. You may argue Foxes is a plural noun, and you wouldn't be wrong. However, my argument for the name being a singular noun is simply this: the noun used in this article is referring to a singular person.

We can discuss the merits of singular vs. plural, but we should keep it consistent across the entire article. There are currently a couple sentences which use the singular verb form, indicating the name is being used in the singular form. For instance, if the consensus is that Foxes is a plural noun, we should also change the phrase "Foxes has said" to "Foxes have said"—or, better yet, just "Foxes said."
